Sinister and disturbing crimes occur each day. There are always new stories about crimes and abuse from every part of the country. The media grabs hold of these stories because, unfortunately, tragedy sells better than happiness. What is really worrying is that young individuals are involved. You could even say that a substantial number of kids nowadays are not at all the little angels they should be. For example, take the case of James Bulger, who was only three years old, when two ten-year-olds abducted and brutally killed him in 1993. People all over the world were horrified by the savage act and did not understand how such a thing could happen.

In fact, stories like these are nothing new – history remembers a lot of similar cases.

Most recent shootings in schools were committed by kids. In fact, there are similar stories all through history.

Such as Mary Bell fifty years ago, Jesse Pomeroy a century and half ago, and even in the mid-18th century there was a ten-year old murderer by the name of William York.

You can bet there were some even before that, and there will certainly be more to come in future. Kids killing and committing shocking crimes. Let’s check out 15 of the worst child crimes below.

1. In a rage rant Christian Fernandez brutally killed his little brother

The now 19-year old murderer is expected to be released from jail next month after getting close to serving his 8 years. He killed his defenseless two-year old half-brother by hitting his head against a bookshelf numerous times. After a while, he realized what he had done and simply carried him to his bed. Fernandez was arrested in 2011 in Jacksonville, Florida, where he became the youngest murderer in the history of Duval County.

2. Jordan Brown was too jealous of his father’s pregnant fiancee

This 11-year old boy was apparently painfully jealous of the fact that his father’s fiancé was pregnant. He thought the new baby would steal his father’s love and attention from him, so he decided to eliminate the problem, literally. He grabbed his shotgun, which his father gave to him as a Christmas gift, and shot and killed 26-year old Kenzie Houk in her sleep, which led to the baby’s death as well. Brown has been already released from jail and is now 18 years old. We can only hope that he has remorse for what he has done and will never kill again.

3. India was horrified by Amardeep Sada’s killing spree

Amardeep Sada killed several children back in 2007, starting with his six-month old baby cousin. After he smashed his head with a brick, he did the same horrific thing to his baby sister and then to the neighbors’ child. What is even more shocking is the fact that some of the neighbors knew what he had done, but nobody informed the authorities about it, calling it a family matter. The murderer was only eight years old at the time.

4. Surpassing the Columbine shooting was the Bever brothers’ goal

The Menendez brothers are famous for the brutal act of murdering both of their parents in the 90s, but hardly anyone has heard of the Bever brothers, although they did something even more horrific. They were raised in a reclusive family from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Robert, 18, and his 16-year old brother, Michael had two younger brothers, aged 12 and 7, as well as three sisters, aged 13, 5 and 5.

These two sinister boys wanted to commit something even more terrible than the incident in Columbine, so they did it. On the 2nd of July, 2015, they cold-bloodedly murdered their parents, the two other boys and their 5-year old sister. They did not touch the 2-year old girl, and the 13-year old sister managed to escape somehow. Robert and Michael were sentenced to life without parole and will never be free.

5. Joseph McVay’s Mom made him do chores and he apparently did not like that

A concerned neighbor alerted the police via 911 on the second day of 2011 in Big Prairie, Ohio when something horrible happened. The officers arrived at the residence and found the dead body of a 46-year old woman on the living room floor, face down, with a gunshot wound to the head. After the initial search to find out who would do such a gruesome thing, it turned out to be her son, Joseph McVay, who was ten-years old at the time.

His 15-year old sister saw the whole thing. After interrogation it became clear that the only reason for the murder was the mother’s simple request to Joseph to bring some firewood inside. Joseph apparently didn’t want to be told what to do, and shot his mother instead with a 22-caliber rifle.

6. A couple in love with a twisted mind – meet Kim Edwards and Lucas Markham

Kim Edwards and Lucas Markham were just a couple of 15-year old lovebirds. But they had very twisted minds, as it turns out. They shocked a lot of people in the UK after committing a brutal double murder. The victims were Kim’s 49-year old mother and her 13-year old sister. The motive – poor Kim was not getting enough attention from her Mom. The couple decided to attack the mother and sister with a knife in their sleep, and then finished them off by suffocating them with their own pillows.

Immediately after the cold-blooded murders, the two murderers were intimate and then went into the bathroom together to wash away the blood. Next they watched some Twilight movies. Later Markham told the police that he killed his girlfriend’s sister only because he thought that she would likely call for help and notify the police.

7. The entire class witnessed Will Cornick attacking

Ann Maguire, 61, was a couple of months away from retiring, after a lifetime dedicated to teaching. A seemingly regular kid, Will Cornick, who had not shown any signs of aggression previously, killed her. He was clearly holding some sort of grudge against the teacher. Back in 2014, on April 28th, he brutally attacked her by stabbing her in the back, while she stood by another student’s desk, injuring her fatally.

Cornick reportedly brought a bottle of whisky to celebrate the murder. What is even more horrifying is that he allegedly planned to assassinate two other teachers the same day, but he did not have the chance to complete his evil plan.

8. Demons apparently “possessed” James Fairweather

James Fairweather is the next young murderer on the list. Running across him in public meant bad luck for two strangers. First, he stabbed a 33-year old man who was drunk and unconscious in a park in Essex, UK. He did this for no reason, just the thrill of killing.

Later, he attacked a 31-year old woman, stabbing her in the eyes. He did not want to stop there, but he was caught while searching for his third victim. He later claimed that he heard voices that commanded him, but that did not work out and he got a much deserved life sentence.

9. Daniel Bartlam intended to execute the perfect crime

14-year old Daniel Bartlam figured that he would get away with a perfectly planned and executed murder when he killed his mother with a claw hammer on April 25th, 2011. After killing her, he soaked the whole house with gasoline and set it on fire. Initially he told the police that a burglar did all this, but the truth surfaced rather quickly and he confessed. What is truly horrific about this case is the apparent lack of motive. It seems that the young boy just wanted to see if he could escape justice, but he did not, and he has more than sixteen years left to think about it.

10. Nehemiah Griego woke up one day and just decided he was in the mood to massacre his entire family

Some terrible acts of violence happen for no reason at all. Griego is a perfect example. On January 19th, 2013, the then 15-year old kid went in his parents’ master bedroom and shot his mother in her sleep, with a rifle. His younger brother heard something going on, and ended up being shot twice hiself. The boy then proceeded to kill his two sisters, aged 2 and 5, who were hiding in the corner.

Next, he pulled an AR-15 from the gun cabinet and laid in wait. When his father came home from work, he killed him, too. Griego was sentenced to prison, but considering he was a juvenile, he will be free by the time he is 21 years old, which is next year.

11. Rob Zombie’s Halloween inspired Jake Evans

Evans had a very simple plan – murder his mother and little sister, then pay a visit to his grandparents and murder them and his older sister. He began executing the plan on October 12th, 2012 by shooting his Mom and little sister down. But instead of proceeding with the remainder of his plan, he called 911 and confessed what he did.

His explanation was that he was inspired by the “Halloween” movie remake, created by Rob Zombie, which centers around a boy killing his family. Due to him being under 18, he was convicted as a minor, but that only saved him the death penalty – he got 45 years in jail.

12. Jarrell Milton thought he could score easy from some drug dealers

Two drug dealers, Jamymell Ray, 31, and Charles Fisher, 30, were getting ready to sell some marijuana in Omaha, Nebraska in June, 2015, and it was supposed to be a simple deal. However, things did not go smoothly for them. Three boys attacked them upon entering Miller Park. Ray died from gunshot wounds in the head and neck, and Fisher was lucky enough to survive after he took a shot in the shoulder. Situations like this occur every day, but the shocking part here is that the boys were all under aged.

Jarrell Milton was only 12, his brother was 17 at the time, and their friend was just 15. Their plan was to rob the two dealers and make some easy money. Jarrell was sentenced as a minor and will be out soon.

13. William Schultz picked a young and weak victim

Schultz is reportedly deranged and really dangerous, simply put. He was just 18 at the time of the crime. He apparently thought that the world was coming to an end, and thus decided to complete one of the items on his bucket list –to see how it felt to take someone’s life. So in late April, 2015, he cut the power supply to a random house, went inside and found 9-year old Jordon Almgren asleep. Schultz stabbed him brutally, killing the child. Why him, you ask? The reason was simple – the victim was weak. The murderer has another twenty-five years of thinking to do before he has a chance of parole.

14. Bobby Woods Jr. decided to eliminate his girlfriend’s annoying kid

Clear logic and normal thinking is not for everyone, especially not for Bobby Woods Jr, a 17-year old Lufkin, Texas resident. He lived with his girl and Mason Cutler, who was the three-year old son of the girl’s brother. When his girlfriend became pregnant, Bobby thought that the house would be too small for all of them, so he took Mason to the pond outside the house and simply pushed him in. He left the child to drown, simply walking away.

Later, Woods confessed to planning the whole thing, and, as it turned out, his girlfriend knew about the murder. She was found unfit to stand trial.

15. Dequan Stribling, Quindaris Burres and Jayce West simply got bored and wanted to do something

Most teenagers usually plan activities together that do not involve homicide, but not in this case. In October 2017, in Baldwin, Mississippi, three boys were thinking about what they should do to escape their immense boredom. But instead of playing a sport or just hanging out, they made the decision to murder 70-year old Henry Adams Jr. He was found outside his house on October 23rd.

The boys were between 13 and 14 years of age and each are facing murder charges. All of them could be tried as adults but would still avoid death sentence because of their age. One motive for the brutal crime is robbery, but it is not officially confirmed by the police.
